Mother
Incubator of my life
Safety haven from all strife
Giving growth to every limb
Feeding me from deep within.
Pulsing pain belabored birth
Loosing life upon the earth
Here you’ve certainly shown no dearth
In demonstrating what you’re worth.
Warm and whispery words endear
Kissing lips allaying fear
Wrapped in love and free from harm
Snuggling in your weary arm.
Giving guidance to my reach
Standing firm if I beseech
Stretching thin when times were rough
Fostering feelings of enough.
Working fingers to the bone
Through love’s labor you have shown
Dedication like no other
You’re the one I call my Mother.
